Dear Parishioners,

Today is Education Sunday and we have received a Pastoral Letter from Bishop Alan on our Catholic Schools. It is a much longer letter than we usually receive, so I have made copies of the letter and you will find a copy inside your Newsletters for you to read yourselves. This is a very important Letter and I do hope that you will all take a copy home and read it. I will read the first two paragraphs at Holy Mass and that will give you a very good idea of what the whole letter is about. Please do take a copy, and there will be spare copies at the back of the Church.

OUR SCHOOLS: It is good to see everyone back at our Schools. I visited all the Classes in St. Michael’s School and I was on my best behavior!!! And I ask all the children if they were happy at being in School again and had a great reply from them saying they were very happy. I also visited St. John’s School in Chigwell, and the Students were also very happy to be back. So I wish them and all the other Schools every success for the new Academic Year and also all the Staff who do such great work in all our Schools.

ALTAR SERVERS: from Year 10 and upwards: We are having a meeting this Tuesday 11th September which we hope you will all attend. There will be a selection of Pizzas and soft drinks available for you and we want to take this opportunity of saying a big thank you for your support and your help with the younger Altar Servers for the Masses. So come along and enjoy a good hour or two in the Parish room at 7.00pm.

FIRST COMMUNION PROGRAM: This begins this coming Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Church for the parents of the 1st Communion Children. We do expect you all to attend the meetings throughout the coming months as it is important that you and the Children are well prepared for this very important Sacrament that they will receive next May. The Children meet next Saturday at 9.15am in the Church and again we do expect all to attend. Please help your Children by giving them all the opportunities of understand the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. We say a big thank you to the Sisters and all the Catechists for their loyalty and hard work.

Please pray for Mary Doyle who has died. Please pray too for all her Family and Friends

Please pray for Jacqueline Shillingford (Nap). Please pray too for her Family and Friends.
