FOURTEENTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

This past week I had the privilege of joining year 6 pupils from the 7 Primary Schools we have in the Deanery at the St. John Bosco Camp near Colchester for a very special day where the children got together with all sorts of activities to help them in their preparations for the Senior Schools that they will be going to in September. The weather was perfect for the day and the Children really enjoyed the whole experience. We finished the program with a wonderful Mass celebrated by Fr. Michael, from Stratford and myself. The day was a great success, but the journey home for our children was not so good , it took almost four hours for the to come home because of accidents on the A12 M25 but all returned home safe and sound. On Friday I joined in the 110th Anniversary of the foundation of St. Helen’s School. Again it was a wonderful celebration led by our Bishop Alan and six of our Priests. Two of them were former Pupils in the School. Mgr. John Armitage and Fr. James Mackay. Let us hope and pray for pupils will think and maybe choose to follow their example. The children sang beautifully and they gave us all a surprise with a song that they themselves composed and with the help of their Music Teacher put a tune to the words. It was very good and no doubt will be used by the School for many years.

ACHIEVEMENTS EVENING FOR ST. MICHAEL’S SCHOOL: will be held on Wednesday 11th July at 6.30pm in the Church. This is always a very good evening informing all of us of the achievements of our children. So we do hope that we will have a full Church. On Friday we will have the last School Mass of the Academic Year as the children will be on holidays from Monday 16th July. We do hope that all will have a very good time wherever you are travelling to and a safe journey there and back home. We also hope and pray that the weather will be kind to you all and that you all have a good rest and be ready for the new Academic Year in September. We do thank all the teaching Staff and all who work at St. Michael’s School for the excellent year we have had. We pray that the Year 6 pupils will have a very successful year in their new Schools and thank them for their leadership in our school this year. I hope all of you will have a great time in the holidays.

GOD BLESS, Bob
