THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD (B)

Dear Parishioners,

Next Saturday we will have Fr. David Pearce saying the 6.00pm Mass. Fr. David was ordained Priest on 2nd December 2017. He spent almost a year working in the parish of St. Michael’s as a Student about three years ago and I know many of you remember him and it is wonderful to see him back as a Priest. After the Mass he will give the Special Blessing of a newly ordained priest to anyone who wishes to receive it. We will then have some light refreshments in St. Michael’s School Hall after the Mass to which you are all welcome.

JONATHAN BURDEN: is a First year Student, studying for the Priesthood and is staying with us for one month on a pastoral experience working in the Parish. He has written a short item inside the newsletter about himself. Some of you have already met him and we wish him a very happy experience and every Blessing for his future. We need more young men like himself to think about the Priesthood for the Diocese. Last Friday the Seminarians had a celebration at Our Lady of Lourdes, Leigh on Sea and eight people came forward making enquiries about the Priesthood, let us hope they will come forward and offer themselves for the diocese.

YOUTH MISSION 2000: was held at St Bonaventure’s School last week end. About 300 young people came from all over the country including Wales and Scotland. I was able to join with them for a number of Hours each day and I must say it was a wonderful Spiritual experience to be with them. We hope that they will do it again next year and hopefully some of our young people from St. Michael’s might join them

God Bless, Bob
