THIRTY – FIRST SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

The Sacrament of Confirmation for 2019 will be held at the 11.00am Mass on Pentecost Sunday 9th June 2019. There will be a meeting for all Parents of the young people who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday 6th December at 7.00pm in the Church. All applications to receive the Sacrament must be handed in by Friday 30th November. The application must be written by the Candidate and not by the Parents. In the application you will need to say where you received the Sacrament of Baptism, if it was in St. Michael’s Church then we will have it in the Baptism Register. If you were Baptised in another Catholic Church then you will need to bring a copy of the certificate with your application. You must be. aged 14yrs of age by the 31st August 2019 to apply. Please make sure your application is handed in by Friday 30th November.

NOVEMBER LISTS: There are envelopes at the back of the Church for you to put lists of your deceased loved ones in and to either place them on the Altar or hand them into the presbytery. These lists will be on the Altar at all Masses throughout November and a Mass is offered each week for the repose of their Souls with a Special Mass on Thursday 22nd November at 7.00pm

REMEMBRANCE SERVICE: will be held by the Catholic Schools of Newham at the Cenotaph in Central Park at 10.45am next Friday 9th November to which all are welcome. This year we celebrate the centenary of the end of the 1914-1918 war and we pray for the many people who died defending our country. Next Sunday is Remembrance Sunday and we will have a two minutes silence before the Masses.

BAPTISM COURSE: begins tomorrow at 6.30pm in the Parish Room. The course is for two Mondays and then you can arrange a date for the baptism. If any parent wishes to have their children receive the Sacrament in the next couple of months need to attend the course. You will need to bring a copy of your own Baptism Certificate with you. If you are expecting a child in the next few months then I would suggest you join the course. I do thank the Sisters who have been running the course for a number of years along with Suzanne. They have been a great help to the families and we wish them every Blessing.

GOD BLESS, Bob
