Dear Parishioners,

Last Sunday was a very special day for the parish. Bishop Alan visited the Parish and gave the Sacrament of Confirmation to 38 of our young people. The Bishop signed all the registers that we keep, The Baptism Register, the Marriage Register and the Register for those who have died. The Mass was beautiful, with the singing in the Choir, the role of the young people who received the Sacrament of Confirmation with the Readings and the Offertory Procession and the respect in being able to answer Bishop Alan when they were asked about their particular Saint they had chosen as their Confirmation name. All the young people were able to say something about the Saint why the Saint was their choice. We also say a big thank you to the Catechists who did a tremendous job in the preparation of our young people. We also thank those who prepared and cleaned up the School Hall for the reception. Many people came into the hall and enjoyed the light refreshments. Bishop Alan then came into the presbytery for a wonderful Lunch and a chat with both Fr. Francis and myself. The Bishop commented on what a wonderful reception he received and the great atmosphere we had in St Michael’s Parish. So I do say a very big thank you to everybody for a wonderful experience and hope we continue supporting each other always.

RCIA: This Sunday the people preparing to become full members of the Church will have the first Scrutiny with the receiving of the words of the Profession of Faith. They will come forward with their Sponsors and we will all make the Declaration of Faith together. We ask the parish to continue keeping the candidates in our prayers as they take the final steps towards becoming full members of the Church at Easter.

HOSPITAL: Please could you let me know whenever, you yourself, or a member of the Family are in Hospital. I would really like to be informed as then I can go and visit the person bringing Holy Communion to them and giving them the Sacrament of the Sick. I have been surprised on a couple of occasions to be told of parishioners being in hospital for a week or more and not knowing. I had hope to see a young boy over the past two weeks but have not been too good myself. Please pray for any member of the parish who maybe in hospital.
