THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST (B)

HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION

Dear Parishioners,

This week we have a Retiring collection at all Masses to raise funds for the Sick and Retired Clergy. Many of the priests have given over 50 years working as Priests throughout the Diocese and this collection which is taken annually is to support them in Retirement and an opportunity for all of us to say a big thank you for their loyalty and work as Priests in the Diocese. So we ask you all to be as generous as you can to this appeal.

NEW ORGAN: We have been given an opportunity of purchasing an Organ for the Church at the cost of £4200.00. I have been informed by Shea Lolin a qualified Organ player that it is a very good one and most suitable for St. Michael’s Church. I hope I will have the support of the Parish in this purchase as I think we do have a very good deal and it would be great to have a more solid instrument for our Church. We have already received an offer from a local Business, who has promised to give a donation. If any person wishes to make a Donation it will be gratefully received. The Organ is now in place in the Choir Loft and no doubt you will notice a huge difference in the music when we sing our Hymns during the Masses. I take this opportunity of thanking the three gentlemen who helped in the lifting of the Organ into the Choir. It was not an easy job, but a job well done. We have also been given a discount on the cost . It is now £4000.00 and we have already had a donation towards the cost. If any person would like to make a donation small or large it would be very much appreciated. I think everyone will be pleased with the purchase.

LOURDES: Once again Lourdes was very good. The weather mind was not very good, we had rain most days, so much so that both the Blessing of the Sick at 5pm on Wednesday and the Rosary Procession in the night were both held in the Underground Basilica. I was very surprised that the Torchlight was help inside, I think it must have been the very first time. It was very successful except to say that everybody got wet going back to their Hotels. Still we were able to offer Masses for all your intentions and pray for you all at the Grotto. We now look forward to the Diocesan Pilgrimage in July.

GOD BLESS, Bob

.
