FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (C)

Dear Parishioners,

This week end is the last opportunity for us to plce donations in the Basket at the Crib. The Crib will be taken down this afternoon and we must once again say a huge thank you to the Men who built the Crib and made such a wonderful job of it. People from many Parishes came and made wonderful complements on our Crib. The money collected at the Crib is for the Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society, (BCCS) who do such tremendous work with the poor families throughout the Diocese and also those families who need guidance and support. They get no help from the Government or the Local Authorities and yet they do much of the work that should be covered by the Authorities and are able to support all families in need. We do hope you will continue to support the BCCS in their work and a huge thank you to all for your offerings so far. We will give the final total raised in next week’s Newsletter.

EX-TRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST: I am once again going to ask people if they wish to be Ministers of the Eucharist. I do not want anybody approaching me to ask if they could be Ministers but I do and wish for suggestions for names for me to approach the particular people suggested. This is an important position in our Parish and those chosen must be prepared to make the sacrifices needed to be a good Eucharistic Minister. You will be asked to take Holy Communion to the Housebound each week and you will receive training before you begin and of course you will also have to fill in a D.B.S.Form.

There will also be a meeting for all Eucharistic Ministers in the near future. I have not got a date yet but hopefully by next week I will have one. I will expect all the present Ministers to attend and hopefully the new people who will be chosen of the next few weeks will also come to the meeting and meet the present Eucharistic Ministers.I also wish to thank those who have been Eucharistic Ministers and who have been taking Holy Communion to the Housebound. There are a number of Ministers who have not, for one reason or another involved themselves in this role and we can talk about this at our meeting and hopefully some more of you will be able to take part in the wonderful Pastoral Ministry. GOD BLESS, Bob
