TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

This week all the Parishes of the Deanery will be holding a Holy Hour at 7.00pm in the Churches with a talk on the Eucharist, in preparation for the National Meeting in Liverpool of all the Diocese of England and Wales next Friday to Sunday 7th-9th September of the Eucharistic Congress to reflect the centrality of the Eucharist in the life of the Church. This is a very important Congress and the Priests of the Deanery decided to have our own preparation for the meeting in Liverpool. We do hope all parishioners in the Deanery will try to attend at least one of the Holy Hours in the Parishes. Our one in St. Michael’s will be on Monday 3rd September at 7.00pm and Fr. Francis will talk will be “The Eucharist as the source and summit of our Christian Life.” Please do come along and pray for the success of the Eucharistic Congress next week end.

SCHOOLS: The holidays come to an end this week and we do hope everyone had a great time and have all arrived safely back home ready for the new term. We wish all the Staff of the Schools and the Students of the Senior Schools every success and our children in the Primary Schools an exciting new year. St Michael’s will have their opening Mass for the New Year on Friday at 9.30am. We hope that all year 6 who have moved to the senior Schools will settle in and do their very best as they did in St. Michael’s and enjoy the experience. St Michael’s School opens on Wednesday and the St Bonaventure’s and St. Angela’s Schools begin on Tuesday.

A NEW PHOTO COPIER: has been bought as the one we use for the newsletters was has completely packed up after over ten years of use. We were unable to buy parts for the machine, so we have had to purchase a new one at a cost of £2874.00. We are appealing to your generosity once again and would appreciate donations towards the cost as we really do need the Printer to run of our Newsletters each week. If anyone could think of ways of raising the money please let us know. I will run a Raffle in the next couple of weeks to help towards the cost.

GOD BLESS, Bob

Please pray for Mary Doyle who has died. Please pray too for all her Family and Friends
