THIRTIETH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

We are coming into the month of November when we pray for all our loved ones who have passed away. Envelopes are at the back of the Church for you to put a list of those you wish to pray for throughout the month and either place them in the collection bags or hand them into one of the Priests. And the names will be left on the Altar at all Masses throughout the month of November and we will pray for the repose of their souls at all Masses. A special Mass will be said for all those who have died in the past twelve months and for all the names on our November Lists on Thursday 22nd November at 7.00pm.

SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS: is celebrated on Thursday and is a Holy Day of Obligation which means that all of us should attend Holy Mass on that day. The Masses will be celebrated at 9.30am and 7.00pm. This is a very special day for us all as we will celebrate all members of our families and friends who have died and are with Almighty God in the kingdom of Heaven amongst the Saints. So it is very special for us all.

COMMEMORATION OF THE HOLY SOULS: is on Friday 2nd November and again we will have Masses celebrated at 9.00am and 7.00pm that day to pray for the Holy Souls and especially for our loved ones.

THE NIGHT SHELTER: has once again started in the Churches of Newham and Our Lady of Compassion Parish will as usual have Wednesdays as their night for caring for the homeless. They are looking for volunteers to help them out, if anybody is interested please contact Fr. Angelus on 020 8472 1181 he would appreciate the help very much.

SURGERY: I will be holding a Surgery Monday evening from 6.00pm to 7.30pm. If you wish to see me for any enquiries or you wish to apply for Reception Classes for the St. Michael’s School for September 2019 please come along and bring a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate if they were Baptised outside the Parish with you. If they were Baptised here, we can check the Baptismal Register.

JIM GILLIGAN RIP: the Funeral Mass will be at 10.00am on Wednesday so there will be no 9.00am Mass that morning. The Mass will be at 8.30am. Please keep Jim in your prayers and pray too for May his wife and all the family.

GOD BLESS, Bob
