THE FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

Last week end was certainly a very busy one with the preparation of the Annual lunch that we do for the Senior Citizens and for the Housebound. Also preparing for Monday evening for Fr. Francis’ Mass and the social afterwards in the School Hall. A lot of hard work, but very enjoyable and we say a huge thank you to all who helped with the lunch on Sunday. It was a great success. A thank you to the Drivers who brought people to the hall and those who took the people back to their homes. Monday evening was special and it was wonderful that Bishop Alan was able to join us and we do thank him very much. It was great to see the numbers at Mass and then coming into the School for the reception. There was so much food, everybody seemed to thoroughly enjoy the evening and again we thank all who provided the food and helped to prepare the hall and clean up at the end. It was a great send off for Fr. Francis and he was very pleased with the response from everyone. He wishes to say a big thank you to all involved and he will keep us all in his prayers as we will keep him and his family in our prayers. We will of course be thinking of him on Saturday 3rd February, the day of the funeral of his Father, Peter Ward.

SISTERS OF CHARITY ‘THANK YOU’ FOR THE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

“With deep gratitude in our hearts we thank God for the acts of sacrifices you all made on behalf of the poorest of the poor. You have put, not only money, but your hands and hearts to each item you have beautifully wrapped and gifted. Our gratitude is our Prayer that God may continue to bless you, your families, your parish, your place of work and meetings. May Mary, be a Mother to you in our daily joys and struggles and may She lead you by the light of her faith. Please do pray for us that we may serve God and His poor with love and dignity according to His ways. God Bless you All ,Missionary Sisters of Charity in Southwark”

HOMELESS SUNDAY: There will be a retiring collection for the Homeless and the monies will be sent to Anchor House who do a terrific job with homeless people. We do ask you to be a s generous as you normally are for this Charity so that they can continue their great work. GOD BLESS,
