NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST (B)

Dear Parishioners,

This week I received a cheque of £4000.00 from a Parishioner, Deborah Kelly on behalf of her late brother Thomas Gerard Kelly who passed away last October. The gift is to pay for the new organ that we have in the Church, and is given on behalf of all the family as a memorial for the love and care that the Family have given throughout the years of attending Mass here in St. Michael’s Church. There will be a memorial plaque place permanently on the organ to remind us all of the generosity and support that the Family have given to St. Michael’s Church. We also ask your prayers for the family especially Mum who has recently gone into a Nursing Home and being cared for. We do thank the family and there will be a memorial Mass said each year on the 14th October for the repose of the soul of Thomas. It will be a Foundation Mass said each year on that date. As you can see the present has covered the cost of the Organ and people have been making donations towards the Organ and we do say a huge thankyou to them and a few have already said to put the money into the refurbishing of the Toilet facilities and a new office. We will continue trying to raise funds for these projects and ask people to continue supporting the appeal.

DAMIEN WADE: is a student studying for the Priesthood for the Diocese of Brentwood. He will be staying with us for the next month joining in the activities of the Parish and involving himself in the work in our Schools and the Parish. It is great that the Students have these opportunities to spend time in different parishes around the Diocese as it helps them to understand what they are undertaking and hopefully strengthens the call that they have to become Priests. I know you will make him very welcome and will support him in the parish and he most certainly will do his best to join in everything that happens here in the Church. Next Saturday one of our Deacons will be ordained Priest for the Diocese, his name is Rick Fernandez and we ask you to keep him in your prayers. Fr. Philip Thomas of the Brothers of St John was ordained a Priest this week end at St. Antony’s Church Forest Gate and again we ask you to keep him in your prayers and to wish him every Blessing for his continued work in Forest Gate and East London University.

GOD BLESS, Bob
