TWENTY- FIFTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)
This week we celebrate our Patronal Feast of St. Michael. We of course also celebrate the Feast of St. Gabriel and the Feast of St. Raphael. It is a very special day for the parish and it falls on Saturday 29th September. St. Michael’s School will celebrate the Feast on Friday with a Special Mass at 9.30am in the Church, to which you are all welcome. On Friday afternoon at 5.00pm the School will be holding a Bar B Q as part of the celebration of St. Michael’s feast to which everyone is invited. You will pay an entrance fee to help cover the cost and to raise money for the School. It should be a great opportunity for parishioners to meet the staff and enjoy the evening. The parish will celebrate the feast on Saturday starting with Holy Mass at 12noon followed by a reception in the School Hall. We ask people to bring food that all can share and the Drinks will be provided. I do hope that as many of you will come along and make the day very special for everyone. There will also be a Raffle, so if anybody has gifts for the Raffle they will be appreciated. The money will go towards the cost of the Printer.
MARK WILSON RIP: We received the sad news of the death of Mark from Kathy, his mother on Wednesday. Kathy most of you know was a tremendous carer in St. Michael’s School for many years and then when she retired from that, she worked in the Church and in the Presbytery until she moved down to Leigh on Sea. For the past four years Kath looked after Mark right to the very end. I ask your prayers for the Repose of the Soul of Mark and prayers for Kath who was a really great helper to me when I arrived in St. Michael’s nine years ago this week.
ALTAR SERVERS: We had six young children turn up for the training last Monday and Tuesday, and one adult. I had hoped there would be many more. It is a great honor to be able to serve at the Masses and I am hoping that more youngsters will come forward and we can organize another training day for them. I would encourage the present Altar Servers to come along and continue their service for the Lord as sometimes we find it difficult to cover all the roles you have in Mass.
GOD BLESS, Bob
Please pray for Mark Wilson, who has died. Please pray for his mother, Kathy, all his Family and Friends at this time.
