TWENTY- NINTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

World Mission Sunday is your chance to support missionaries and our Church in proclaiming the Gospel of hope to those who suffer around the world. By supporting Missio, the Pope’s official charity for overseas mission, you will be sharing the love of Christ with all people by helping everyone in need, regardless of background or belief. Today, your prayers and donations will help build a future of hope both in Ethiopia and around the world. Please give what you can, and if possible, use the Gift Aid envelopes if you are a Taxpayer. The collection will be taken after all Masses and we hope everyone will support this important work of the Church.

“LIFE IS A MISSION: Every man and woman is a mission: that is the reason for our life on this earth. To be attracted and to be sent are two movements that our hearts, especially when we are young, feel interior forces of love; they hold out promise for our future and they give direction to our lives. When I think back to my youth and my family, I remember the strength of my hope for a better future. We are all called to reflect on this fact: ‘I am a mission on this Earth; that is the reason why I am here in this world’ ( Evangelii Gaudium,273)” Pope Francis

We are approaching the month of November, which is the month we pray for all our deceased families and friends. At the back of the Church are the November envelopes which you can place the names of all your deceased loved ones and hand them into the Presbytery or give them to the Priests or put them in the collection plate on Sundays. A Mass will be said for all the intentions each week and we will have a Special Mass towards the end of the month for the November Lists and the Holy Souls.

HOSPITAL: When individuals are in Hospital could the families please contact the Priest, so as he can visit them and give them the Sacraments. I visit Newham Hospital every Wednesday to say Mass and visit the sick and often am quite surprised to see Parishioners there, not knowing that they may have been there for a few days. Please let the Priest know if you have a relative in hospital especially if it is not Newham Hospital and the Priest can then visit them and bring the Sacraments with him. GOD BLESS, Bob
