ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (B)

DAY FOR LIFE

Dear Parishioners,

Day for life is celebrated yearly by the Catholic Church in England and Wales, Ireland and Scotland. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The proceeds of the Day for Life collection to be held in all parishes throughout these countries are used for the promotion of the dignity of the human person. Money collected for Day for Life will be used to fund projects that support work in this area by organisations which further this objective. We do hope that you will all be as generous as you usually are for these fund raising events and this is an important activity in encouraging respect for life. Pope Francis tells us that ‘the trade in human beings violates the God given dignity of so many of our brothers and sisters, and constitutes a true crime against humanity’. We pray for victims of human trafficking that they may be helped to rebuild their lives after traumatic experiences they have gone through. There will be a retiring collection at all Masses this weekend.

READERS: at our Masses. We need more people to offer themselves as Readers in our Masses especially of Sundays. The 8.00am Mass could do with more volunteers especially. We do need more readers for the 9.00am and the 11.00am Masses also. It is a privilege to come forward and Read the Word of God to all who attend the Mass and hopefully more people will offer themselves to take this opportunity.

RETIRED AND SICK PRIESTS: We receive another £197.90 for this fund which has made the total up to £776.63. Which is very much appreciated and we do thank you all for your generosity. It really is a great help for us to support the priests who are retired or sick, that they know the people of the Diocese do care for them and do thank them for their generosity in caring for the people of the parishes they cared in for so many years.

R.C.I.A. We hope to start the RCIA program in September. If any person wishes to become a member of our Church please write a letter stating that you wish to join the Catholic Church and hand it in by 15th July. We will then meet with you and discuss the program.

GOD BLESS, Bob
