TWENTY- FOURTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

This coming Monday and Tuesday we are having a training session for any Child who would like the opportunity of serving at the Masses in our Church. We would like especially children who made their First Holy Communion this year. We would like you to be in the Church at 6.30pm both days. The session will be about one and a half hours. We would also like older children who would like to be Altar Servers to come along and join the group. If any adult wishes to serve on the Altar we will organize another evening for your introduction. Last Tuesday we had a Pizza evening for the senior Altar Servers, it went very well for those who turned up, sadly not many did and I was quite disappointed, but have to say that those who did turn up had a great feast and a good laugh. We hope to do another Pizza session for the younger Altar Servers and as soon as a date can be arranged we will let you know.

ST. MICHAEL’S FEAST DAY: is on Saturday 29th September. It is of course our Patronal Feast and we should celebrate as a Parish. I am hoping that if people are interested that we might have a social after the 12 noon Mass. The Social will be held in St. Michael’s School Hall. If the weather is good and its warm outside then we will hold it in the garden at the back of the house. The Parish will provide the drinks, and the people provide the food to share with each other. It is also another special day as I will have arrived at St. Michael’s as Parish Priest nine years ago on that day. I have to ask myself where has the time gone, it has gone so quickly, but I am very proud and honored to be with you all. It should be a lovely occasion and I do hope you will all do your best to come a long and make it a very special afternoon. St. Michael’s School children will celebrate the Feast on Friday 28th September with a Mass and a celebration in the School.

MASS INTENTIONS: I have received a number of Mass Intentions for the 23rd September. I have to inform you that the Masses on that day were booked many months ago so those who were not able to have them said on the 23rd for another date. GOD BLESS, Bob
