TWENTY- EIGHTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

This week we will be saying goodbye to Sr. Clarissa, who has been with us a little over five years working as part of the team of St. Michael’s Parish. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ came to the Parish in 2004 through the invitation of Fr. Martin Fletcher. We do thank the Sisters for what they do here in St. Michael’s and at the moment we have Sr. Ijeoma with us to continue the work until a new Sister is appointed. We do say a big thank you to Sr. Clarissa who has involved herself with the running of the Baptism Courses, the RCIA courses, the Confirmation courses and with the Choir for the 11.00am Masses. Sister has also visited the Sick and housebound and bringing Holy Communion to the people who need the Sacrament.

Sr. Clarissa has written to say that she apologizes for any failures she may have made during these years of service in the parish and to Almighty God. It has been a wonderful experience sharing with the Parishioners. I have such marvelous memories of the People of St. Michael’s, East Ham, the friendly and lively nature of the community and the marvelous spirit that was always there.

Many thanks to Fr. Bob, Fr. Francis and my religious sisters in the community. I have to mention one or two parishioners who were tremendous supporters and so helpful in the Parish, Christopher and Maria Lukose, Christy Sebastian, Maureen the secretary of St. Michael’s and Sue who helped me with the Baptism Courses and the RCIA program May God Bless you all and you will always be in my prayers.

We all do wish you Sister, a very happy and successful time with your new responsibilities in Birmingham. You are always welcome to visit us and we most certainly will be keeping you and all the Sisters in our prayers. Sister will be leaving us on Tuesday, but she has given us another good Sister who has involved herself very much in the workings of the parish and hopefully will be with us for some time. You will of course have time to say goodbye to Sr. Clarissa but we actually will call her back for a proper thanksgiving party, which will be organized as soon as possible.

GOD BLESS, Bob
