THE SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (B)
We now come to the end of Christmastide and we have to say a huge thank you to the men who built our Crib once again. It really looks great and lots of people have said how nice it is. We also say a huge thank you to our Choirs who led the Christmas services, and also for all they do throughout the year. A special thank you to our two organists Francis and Monica and the Choir Leaders Sister Monica and Sister Clarissa. The numbers of people who helped to prepare the Church for the Christmas ceremonies and throughout the year help to keep the Church clean is a wonderful example of people being prepared to serve the parish in the cleaning they do. We say a big thank you. Thanks also goes to our Altar Servers, with Leo leading and guiding them, to our M.Cs. who are there for the Mass each Sunday and Feast days. We thank the ladies who look after the flowers especially the Flowers at Christmas they looked really lovely. A big thank you to the Catechists, who guide the young people in their preparations for Holy Communion and Confirmations, also for the R.C.I. A. programme. We thank also our Eucharistic Ministers, especially those who visit the Housebound each week. We also must thank Christy who come each morning around 7.00am to prepare the Church for the Mass and also for the printing of the Newsletters. We also say thank you to the young people who help with the newsletters. A big thank you to all parishioners for supporting St. Michael’s Parish and always responding to the appeals for help whenever you are asked. It is wonderful and very humbling. Let us look forward to 2018 when we hope to build new Toilets, so that we can have a Disable one as well as separate toilets for men and ladies. It is a big challenge but we hope everyone will support this project.
A special thanks goes to those who sponsored the 2018 Parish diaries and also to the gentleman who very kindly gave me a cheque for £750.00 towards the costs of the new Candle Stands. We do appreciate the great support we get from so many people and many thanks to all.
FR. FRANCIS: There will be a Vigil mass for the repose of the Soul of Peter Ward, the Father of Fr. Francis next Monday 22nd January at 7.00pm. followed by a reception in St. Michael’s School Hall. We do hope as many of our parishioners will attend. Fr. Francis will be going home to Ghana on Wednesday 24th January for the Funeral of his father, and we will keep him in our prayers.
GOD BLESS, Bob
