Dear Parishioners,

Today we think very much of all Mothers as they celebrate this special day. We thank them for all the love and care they have shown everyone and we hope the rest of the family will make it a very memorable day for them. We can all think of our Special Mother today, Mary the Mother of God and the Mother of us all. Pope Francis has announced a ‘Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church’ on the Monday after Pentecost each year. This will remind us all that Mary is our Mother and we can celebrate the Feast in the knowledge of the great love Mary has for each and every one of us. So let us make this day special for all Mothers around the world.

PRIESTS OF THE DIOCESE: We ask your prayers for our Priests, three of whom, are unwell. Fr. Francis OFM. of St. Francis, Stratford is in Hospital; Fr. Paul Fox of Rayleigh, is in Broomfield Hospital and Fr. Eamonn Power is in Nazareth House, Southend, resting. Please keep our priests in your prayers and hopefully all three will make a quick recovery. Please also pray for our Students and that more people will offer themselves to become Priests of the Brentwood Diocese.

RCIA: Our Six candidates from the RCIA program will go through the Second Scrutiny at which they will receive a copy of the Lord’s Prayer and will be encourage to pray this prayer throughout their lives. Again we ask you all to keep them in your prayers as they continue their journey to become full members of the family of Christ in the Catholic Church. Also please pray for all, throughout the Diocese who will join the Church at the Easter Vigil celebrations.

HOSPITAL: Please could you let me know whenever, you yourself, or a member of the Family are in Hospital. I would really like to be informed as then I can go and visit the person bringing Holy Communion to them and giving them the Sacrament of the Sick. I have been surprised on a couple of occasions to be told of parishioners being in hospital for a week or more and not knowing. I had hope to see a young boy over the past two weeks but have not been too good myself. Please pray for any member of the parish who maybe in hospital.
