TENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (B)

Dear Parishioners,

The Bishop of our Diocese invites four married couples to a special Mass at Brentwood Cathedral on Saturday 14th July at 4.00pm followed by a reception in the Cathedral Hall. The Mass is in Thanksgiving for Marriage and Family Life. It would be real nice if four married couple took up this invitation and I can guarantee you will find it a lovely experience. Please contact me a soon as possible as I have the invitation cards with me.

FIRST COMMUNIONS: There is a meeting for all Parents who wish to have their children receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion next year 2019 on Saturday 30th June. We need to have all the letters of application in before this date. So please apply as soon as possible. The children will be asked to say the basic prayers, the Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory be to the Father and be able to say and make the Sign of the Cross. The meeting will be at 10.00am and we do expect all the parents to bring their children to the meeting on that day. You will also, hopefully, receive the dates of the Program which will begin in September. We must thank the Sisters and all the Catechists who did such a wonderful job this year in preparing the children for these special days and for the time they give to help the children in the preparation.

CARE OF THE CHURCH: We ask people to please take care of our Church. Sadly someone or more are scratching the top of the benches with a sharp instrument. The front bench that I sit in each morning for the Morning Prayer has been badly scratched and there are a few other benches in the same situation. Please, if you see any person marking the benches, just ask them to stop. Also, we are finding those cheap candle lights in the Church place in the Candle stands. If anything happens in the Church because of them, we will not be insured and so I ask the person or persons please do not light them in the Church. The cost of the last incident cost £256,505.00. The Insurance paid £122,673.00 and the people of the parish very generously paid £81,505.00 in Donations and fund raising, the rest was paid with what we had in our accounts which was £52,327 we were able to pay the complete costs of the damage. So please do not use the cheap candle lights in our Church.

GOD BLESS, Bob
